Our Mission:
Renewed Mind's mission is giving support to people with a chronic, debilitating illness and their families. We have started by focusing on mental illness, but plan to expand into chronic illnesses, including Alzheimers. We lead support groups where Christ is the center of our recovery and we provide education to the larger faith community.
Our Vision:
Renewed Mind's vision is to educate as many churches as possible is order to eradicate the stigma and misunderstanding that still exists about people who have a mental illness. We aim to see this population, including their families and loved ones, be treated as people with any other chronic, devastating illness. We seek to foster compassion and acceptance in faith communities, bringing churches together to provide needed assistance in various ways to anyone who's lives are affected by brain disorders.
As we progress, we wish to reach out to others with chronic, debilitating illnesses and their families. We envision having more support groups and educational presentations, as well as lay counseling and referrals to resources, as well as a help line.
Renewed Minds is an outreach ministry of Byne Memorial Baptist Church to people with a mental illness and their families. We are based on Romans 12:2: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will is.
